School Field Trips

Service Description

Field trips to the farm are a fantastic way for students to experience hands on, play, learning about agriculture! As a teacher, you are providing a one-of-a-kind experience for your students. Many students would never have the chance to see and experience the farm, if their school did not provide this opportunity! Field trips to the farm are every Friday, starting October 6, 2023 and concluding October 27, 2023. School groups can enjoy the farm from 10:00 am-2:00 pm. If a school is bringing over 100 students and guests, please contact our staff to arrange a private day on the farm. Admission for School Field Trips is $10/student. Teachers and school staff get in free. Admission includes a cup of feed for the petting farm. We also have a package for $15/student that gives each student a bag of gemstones to use at the gem mining sluice and take home gems as a souvenir. Students are welcome to bring sack lunches and refreshments. We have several places on the farm to sit and eat lunch. Disposable water bottles and ice chests are highly encouraged! The students get very thirsty on the farm! Students can bring concession money. All concessions and activities are available on Field Trip days, except wagon rides, the sorghum maze and the mega slide. Students and all guests are encouraged to dress in layers. The farm can feel very chilly if it is windy. We also encourage all guests to wear closed toed shoes. If the temperature is below 45 degrees, it is forecasted to rain all day, if there is snow or there has been a down pour rain causing mud, the field trip day will be cancelled. We will do our best to accommodate all of our field trips and provide an additional field trip day on the farm. Unfortunately, one of the hardest parts of agriculture is having no control over the weather. We have learned that if the weather is inclement, the field trip is not fun! We want every student to leave the farm having experienced the BEST DAY EVER! The farm is happy to accommodate schools with a 15-minute formal farm presentation about agriculture or a Spookley presentation on kindness! Please specify that when booking. If using a school purchase order, please let us know at the entrance gate. We can accept all payments at the farm including cash, check or credit cards.
